Vancouver, Canada: The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Vancouver successfully hosted its 12th annual "Finding Our Children's Dreams" event on November 30th at the SFU downtown campus. Over 150 elementary, middle, and high school students and parents attended, demonstrating the event's immense popularity – registration closed within just two days.
Consul General Jongho Kyun, in his opening remarks, expressed his hope that the event, now in its 12th year, would assist students and parents in exploring and deciding on future career paths.
The event featured presentations by professors Eundeok Moon and Gwanghwo Kim from SFU, Professor Minhyung Ryu from UBC, Seonyeong Cho, International Program Manager at Abbotsford School District, and current UBC and SFU students, Yumin Jung and Heejoo Seol. These speakers provided practical career guidance. A lively Q&A session followed the presentations, addressing topics such as promising fields of study, time management, course selection, and university application strategies.
An official from the Consulate General stated that they plan to continue offering various support programs to help students explore career options and prepare for their futures.
