Cannes, France - June 30, 2025: The recent Sovereign EVM Day event, hosted by Cosmos and Interop Ventures, marked a pivotal moment for the blockchain industry, showcasing how leading ecosystems are leveraging Cosmos for unprecedented growth. Held at the Hotel Belle Plage, the event featured contributions from over 18 influential teams, including Ripple, TAC, and Interchain Labs, revealing advancements in EVM compatibility, DeFi solutions, and seamless multichain interoperability.
Ripple unveiled their revolutionary EVM-compatible sidechains, built on the Cosmos Stack, significantly enhancing the DeFi layer of the XRP ecosystem. This move empowers more than six million XRP users to explore a wide array of applications within XRP, EVM, and Cosmos networks via the native IBC protocol.
Kicking off the summit, Interchain Labs’ Co-CEOs, Barry Plunkett and Maghnus Mareneck, detailed Cosmos’ robust growth trajectory. They emphasized the unique attributes of Cosmos EVM, the sole fully integrated EVM Layer 1 stack on the market, utilized by industry leaders like Ripple and TAC. This platform offers developers exceptional control and flexibility, facilitating the launch of sovereign, interoperable infrastructures within Cosmos.
In a keynote address, Ripple's Luke Judges and Peersyst's Ferran Torres celebrated the mainnet launch of the XPL EVM sidechain, ushering in novel DeFi capabilities to the $127 billion XRP market. This development signals a new era of consumer-driven applications and financial services.

TAC’s Marco Monaco introduced the impending TAC blockchain, a vital EVM app layer extending the TON and Telegram realms. This initiative promises to connect Telegram’s over one billion users to DeFi applications seamlessly, enriching the ecosystem previously unreachable by TON and integrating it with numerous chains, including Ethereum, through IBC.
Sovereign EVM marks the inaugural event in the Sovereign Series, a series of curated worldwide gatherings dedicated to exploring the future potential of Web3 at the intersection of diverse blockchain networks.
