POSCO Holdings is set to host the POSCO Industrial AI-Robot Challenge, a competition aimed at fostering innovation and practical skills among college students. This event focuses on implementing AI-driven robotic systems to perform tasks within POSCO Group’s core industries of steel and energy materials.
The contest features two main categories: the quadruped autonomous walking robot challenge and the multi-joint cooperative robot challenge. Participants will utilize provided robots to complete various missions, testing both their creativity and technical prowess.
POSCO Holdings expects that through this competition, participating students will confront real-world industrial problems and develop strategic solutions. The process is designed to nurture future leaders of the industry and cultivate talents with global competitiveness.
During the event, POSCO Holdings, in collaboration with experts from POSCO DX, will provide mentorship, robotics workshops, and knowledge sharing on the latest AI technology trends and industrial applications. These initiatives aim to enhance participants’ technical skills and industry understanding.
The total prize pool amounts to 37 million won, with awarded teams also gaining opportunities for research project collaborations and extra points in future POSCO DX recruitment processes.
Any university or graduate student in Korea or abroad is eligible to participate. Applications are open from May 26 to June 30, 2025, through the POSCO Holdings official website. After preliminary screening, finalists will proceed to the main competition in September to determine the final winners.
