Dear esteemed domestic and international readers,

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Korea IT Times, it is with deep gratitude that we reflect on the path we have taken since our founding on July 15, 2004.

As the first English-language IT journal in Korea, we embarked on a mission to showcase Korea's technological innovation and economic development on the global stage at a time when information and communication technology (ICT) was emerging as a beacon of hope for the Korean economy.

Twenty years ago, South Korea began to gain global prominence in diverse industries such as semiconductors, displays, telecommunications, automobiles, shipbuilding, and biotechnology. Conglomerates like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix established themselves as global leaders in memory semiconductors, while Samsung Display and LG Display pioneered advances in LCD and OLED technology.

In the telecommunications sector, Korea continued to innovate, starting with the world's first commercialization of CDMA and advancing from 3G to 5G and now 6G technologies. In the automotive industry, Korea led the way in developing eco-friendly vehicles and autonomous driving technologies. In shipbuilding, the country's top-notch technology has given it a global edge, and in biotechnology, companies such as Celltrion and Samsung Biologics have made remarkable breakthroughs.

Korea IT Times has played a pivotal role in publicizing these Korean technological innovations and promoting global exports. In today's global marketplace, it's hard to imagine a world without Korean semiconductors or automobiles, and the IT Korea brand is highly recognized around the world.

However, in recent years, China's aggressive low-cost strategy and massive investment have posed challenges to many industries, including Korea's display sector. Our economy is in dire need of new avenues for job creation and growth.

We are now navigating the vast and competitive waters of a new technological era dominated by artificial intelligence (AI). As American tech giants race to the forefront, Korea is striving to keep pace. Collaborating with technology leaders like OpenAI, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and others is essential for Korean companies to stay competitive in this evolving environment.

Korea IT Times serves as an important conduit for sharing insights from top-level talent with readers around the world. It is Korea IT Times' global connections that propel us forward in this sea of competition.

In the US, private investment is driving AI innovation, while China is accelerating through state-led initiatives. To succeed in this global environment, Korea must strengthen its technology leadership by enhancing the competitiveness of its private sector and increasing policy investment.

Today, Korea IT Times returns to its roots, reaffirming its mission to "elevate IT Korea on the global stage". We are confident that Korea will become a smarter and more digitally advanced nation, driven by technology leadership. Together with you, our readers, we will embark on a new 100-year journey.

Korea IT Times will continue to spread a global network of new hope with readers around the world as a technology information publication that respects the truth of the digital society, provides accurate information, and maintains strict objectivity. We sincerely thank our readers, both domestic and international, for their unwavering support and affection, and we look forward to your continued interest and support in the future.
