Com2uS announced on July 21 that it has released a storytelling video introducing the universe of its upcoming large-scale MMORPG, The Starlight, developed by GameTales and published by Com2uS.
The Starlight is a fourth-generation MMORPG built around a narrative that combines four original novels—Silent Tale, Holynight, Sae Kma Legend, and Narcissus of Gold—written by Lead Director Jeong Seong-hwan. These stories are woven into a multi-verse, providing a rich, interconnected lore. The newly released video captures this expansive multi-verse saga and highlights major events on the continent of Maioresatis, helping players immerse themselves more deeply into the game’s background.
The video depicts the story beginning with the activation of the energy crystal Narcissus, which sustains life and the order of dimensions at the heart of Maioresatis. When the seal on Narcissus is broken, the interdimensional kingdom Lanthe Frontier invades the continent.
To save Maioresatis from crisis, hero Lance Cremelin battles the dark lord Wheel and restores Narcissus. However, to stabilize the fragile balance of the dimensions, Narcissus is shattered into fragments and transformed into Starlight, which is scattered across different dimensions.
Five years later, strange phenomena called Chaos erupt on Maioresatis, leading to monster invasions. In response, five heroes, summoned by the Starlight calling across dimensions, are transported to Maioresatis. Players can choose one of these heroes to gather the dispersed light and embark on an adventure to save the world.
Meanwhile, The Starlight is currently accepting pre-registrations through its official website, app marketplace, and Kakao Games. Participants in the pre-registration will receive various rewards such as rare mounts, spirits, and enhancement items.
Additional benefits can be earned by inviting friends and completing channel subscription missions. Notably, Kakao Games pre-registrants have a chance to win prizes like LG Stanby ME2 and Samsung Odyssey monitors. More details are available on the official teaser site.
The Starlight is scheduled for official release in the third quarter of 2025.
