Anyang University held a business meeting to discuss ways on July 17th, to strengthen mutual cooperation with Bengbu University in China.
The meeting commenced at 10 a.m. in the Academic Affairs Conference Room at Anyang University. The Anyang University delegation was comprised of Jang Yong-chul, Vice President for External Affairs; Lee Tae-gyu, Dean of the Graduate School; Lee Young, Director of the International Exchange Center; and Jeon Ju-eon, Director of Planning. In attendance on behalf of Bengbu University were Jin Guo-yong, Party Secretary, and Yang An-sheng, Deputy Director of International Exchange.
During the meeting, the two universities discussed a wide range of potential cooperation measures, including:
The meeting resulted in the following agreements:
- Joint lectures and academic seminars
- Joint research activities and information exchange
- Exchange of professors and staff
- Student exchange programs (undergraduate transfers, master's, and doctoral programs)
Bengbu University was founded in 1978 and is a public university located in Anhui Province, China. The university has an enrollment of approximately 17,500 students pursuing a range of academic disciplines across 14 colleges. Its Colleges of Business and Economics, Arts and Culture, Education, and Engineering have received notable recognition.
In November 2022, Anyang University and Bengbu University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for international exchange. This agreement has enabled a program whereby Bengbu University undergraduate students can pursue master's degrees at Anyang University, and faculty members can pursue doctoral degrees.
President Jang Gwang-soo of Anyang University stated, "The international exchange with Bengbu University is a significant driver for Anyang University's growth into a global creative convergence university." He added, "We will do our utmost to maximize the synergy and achieve mutual development through our cooperation."
Party Secretary Jin Guo-yong stated, "We aim to further expand our international exchanges with Anyang University, which boasts excellent educational infrastructure. We will promote concrete exchange projects, including student and faculty exchange, as well as joint program development."
