Netmarble revealed its new game, Project Evilbane, for the first time at the IGN Live 2025 global game expo on June 9. The announcement was made during the event, showcasing the highly anticipated title to audiences worldwide.
Project Evilbane is a cooperative action (co-op) game currently under development by Netmarble Monster, built on Unreal Engine 5. It is a spiritual successor expanding the universe of "Raven," which won six awards at the 2015 Korea Game Awards. Players assume the role of members of a special forces unit working toward mankind’s reconstruction, engaging in intense battles against the demonic legions of the “Evil King.”
The game features up to four players forming a team to infiltrate enemy territory, tackle multiple objectives, and fight against hordes of enemies. Strategic role-based gameplay—covering attack, defense, and support—requires players to work together effectively. Completing missions rewards players with experience points and items to upgrade their characters, enabling them to undertake more challenging objectives.
Notably, the outcomes of these missions influence the entire game world, emphasizing collaboration beyond individual parties and fostering a collective effort among all players.
The trailer shown at the event showcased fast-paced third-person shooting (TPS) combat, highlighting fluid melee and ranged attack sequences. It also demonstrated counteractions, where players can block or evade enemy attacks before retaliating, underscoring the dynamic combat style unique to Project Evilbane.
Netmarble plans to conduct a pre-alpha test in the second half of this year, incorporating user feedback to accelerate development. Further details will be gradually released via the official website and related channels.
