Kolmar Korea announced on June 17 that it will actively support the entry of K-Beauty brands into the Chinese market through its partnership with Tmall Global, China’s leading cross-border e-commerce platform operated by Alibaba Group.

On June 16, Kolmar Korea participated as a speaker at the ‘Chinese Beauty Online Market Entry Briefing’ held at the SETEC Convention Center in Gangnam, Seoul. Hosted by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) and co-organized by Tmall Global, the event was designed to provide practical and detailed information for Seoul-based beauty small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to expand into China.

Amidoptimism regarding improved Korea-China relations, the event focused on offering concrete strategies to help Korean cosmetic companies succeed in China. Tmall Global, which boasts approximately 880 million active monthly users in China, is the top cross-border e-commerce platform in the country. With rising demand for premium products and growing trust in K-Beauty brands, Tmall Global has been actively attracting Korean brands and distributors.

During the event, Kolmar Korea shared insights on the latest trends in the global cosmetics market, product developments in Korea and China, and case studies on technological innovation. The presentation, led by Lee Ji-Yeon, Head of Marketing at Kolmar Korea, highlighted the company’s expertise as a global OEM/ODM (Original Equipment Manufacturer/Original Design Manufacturer) and outlined tailored strategies for entering the Chinese market.

Tmall Global participants provided an overview of market trends in China's beauty and personal care sector, explained the procedures for opening storefronts, shared operational strategies, and presented successful case studies. Post-event, attendees received personalized one-on-one consultations for detailed guidance on entering the platform.

Kolmar Korea plans to expand customized consulting services for clients aiming to enter China and strengthen collaborations with global distribution channels, thereby supporting the international expansion of K-Beauty.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Business Agency is currently recruiting for the second phase of the ‘2025 China Online Market Entry Support Project,’ targeting Seoul-based SMEs that possess their own brands or have completed domestic trademark registration for their English brand names. The application deadline is June 20, and applications can be submitted via the SBA website.

A Kolmar Korea official stated, “This collaboration with China’s largest platform marks a significant turning point for our clients’ market entry. We will continue to grow together with our clients to strengthen K-Beauty’s competitiveness globally.”
