KT announced on June 12 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with global AI platform company Palantir, with the goal of promoting operational excellence (AX) across the Korean industrial sector. As part of this initiative, Palantir’s Chief Revenue Officer, Ryan Taylor, visited Korea to discuss specific strategic directions with KT executives at KT’s Gwanghwamun Building East.
Palantir specializes in developing software platforms that support decision-making for governments and corporations through large-scale data integration and analysis. Ryan Taylor oversees Palantir’s global sales strategies and revenue generation efforts, actively expanding partnerships with government agencies and private companies to foster continuous growth and diversify income streams.
Since their partnership was formalized in March, the two companies have been working closely to implement their joint plans, traveling between Korea and the US to fine-tune strategies. Key initiatives include sharing technical expertise through AI and data platform training and co-developing targeted marketing strategies tailored to specific industry sectors. KT aims to enhance the AX capabilities of its employees and, based on this improved expertise, offers Palantir solutions to domestic clients seeking data-driven decision-making.
Initially, KT will deploy dedicated personnel to collaborate with Palantir’s global engineers on joint projects, facilitating the transfer of Palantir’s advanced technology. The companies are also conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, applying AI to large-scale telecom data to demonstrate the tangible benefits of Palantir’s solutions. In addition, specialized training programs and certification systems related to Palantir’s technology will be operated to strengthen overall capabilities.
Furthermore, KT and Palantir plan to operate as exclusive partners in banking, insurance, and other financial services sectors. They will also jointly target potential clients outside the financial industry through coordinated marketing and sales activities. By closely analyzing industry trends and needs, the two firms intend to host AX seminars that deliver tailored, differentiated marketing to their clients.
Ryan Taylor emphasizes, “Through our strategic partnership with KT, we now have the opportunity to introduce innovative AI solutions to the Korean market,” adding, “By combining Palantir’s technological strength with KT’s expertise, we will actively support the strengthening of corporate data utilization.”
KT’s Enterprise Division Vice President Ahn Chang-yong also highlights the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The partnership with Palantir will be a key component of KT’s AX strategy, aimed at strengthening our clients’ core competitiveness. We will work to improve access to Palantir’s services, identify and solve real-world business challenges, and ultimately deliver substantial AX innovation that maximizes our clients’ business performance.”
