Daewoong Pharmaceutical's high-purity, high-quality botulinum toxin product, 'Nabota,' has successfully entered Qatar, one of the key markets in the Middle East. This marks the first time a domestic product of this kind has launched in Qatar, accelerating Daewoong's efforts to tap into the region's growth potential.

On June 5, Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced that it recently hosted a launch symposium in Doha, Qatar, to officially introduce Nabota to the market. With this entry, Nabota has established a presence across the three key Gulf states targeted by the K-Beauty sector: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The Gulf countries, members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), offer a lucrative market characterized by high national income and increasing interest in cosmetic and aesthetic procedures due to their status as major oil-producing nations. The cultural and linguistic similarities among these countries further enhance cross-border collaboration, promising synergistic benefits.

Qatar, in particular, is a high-income country with an estimated GDP per capita of $80,000 by 2024, spurring a rapid increase in demand for premium botulinum toxin products. As a significant market alongside the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East and North Africa region, Nabota's entry into Qatar holds substantial strategic importance.

On May 30, Daewoong Pharmaceutical and its partners held a launch symposium at the St. Regis Hotel in Doha, with approximately 200 local medical professionals attending. Notable experts in the aesthetic and cosmetic field, including Ahmed Ibrahim from Qatar, Abdulqader Ramo from the UAE, and Dr. Koo Bon-chul from Korea’s Naeum Dermatology Clinic, highlighted Nabota's superior quality and differentiated application techniques.

Dr. Koo Bon-chul elaborated on the effectiveness of Nabota, stating that it provides swift and precise results. He highlighted the 'Nabota Lift,' a technique that delivers fine injections of the toxin into the skin layers to not only improve wrinkles but also optimize facial contours and expressions. "This launch event was a significant opportunity to witness the high interest of Middle Eastern medical professionals in Korea's advanced procedural expertise," he remarked.

The 'Nabota Lift' is a proprietary technique developed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical that involves microinjections of botulinum toxin into the skin to induce lifting effects, wrinkle improvement, and collagen production.

Dr. Abdulqader Ramo noted, "There is limited availability of botulinum toxin products in Qatar, but there was tremendous interest in Nabota among local practitioners. It was very meaningful to discuss its clinical safety and efficacy."

Going forward, Daewoong Pharmaceutical plans to elevate brand recognition through campaigns featuring unique procedures like the Nabota Lift across Qatar and the UAE. The company also aims to strengthen its collaboration with local partners.

Yoon Joon-soo, Head of the Nabota Business Division, remarked, "This launch is a critical achievement, adding Qatar as a strategic hub in the Middle East market. We intend to expand our business across the region by leveraging Nabota's superior quality and unique application techniques."
