Korea Aviation Engineering & Maintenance Service (KAEMS) announced on July 14 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gloria Airlines to expand and strengthen their aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) business.
The collaboration aims to combine KAEMS’s expertise in aircraft maintenance with Gloria Airlines' extensive training network to achieve mutually beneficial business expansion. As Korea’s only designated aircraft maintenance MRO specialist company, KAEMS seeks to further broaden its service offerings through this partnership.
Both companies plan to maintain close cooperation based on mutual trust, with the goal of maximizing benefits in the aircraft MRO market.
CEO Bae Ki-hong of KAEMS stated, “Currently, we provide operation and mid-maintenance services to 20 airlines domestically and internationally, including China’s Air China. We plan to actively develop the MRO industry as a future growth engine.”
Shin Dae-hyun, CEO of Gloria Airlines, expressed, “This MOU will integrate our strengths and capabilities, significantly enhancing productivity and business flexibility. We will do our best to establish a successful collaboration model.”
Founded in July 2018 as a subsidiary of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), KAEMS is now Korea’s only government-designated aircraft maintenance MRO company. It leads various projects, including mid and heavy maintenance and performance upgrades for the Republic of Korea Air Force’s F-16 fighters, as well as maintenance tasks for police, coast guard, fire brigade, forestry, and Marine Corps helicopters.
Gloria Airlines, established in June 1990 as Korea Aviation Academy, has grown into a comprehensive aerospace company providing diverse services including flight training at Uljin Flight Training Center and Gloria Flight Academy, as well as domestic and international helicopter services such as Doc Helicopter, wildfire firefighting support, and VIP transportation leasing.
