Switzerland, 13 August 2025 - Quranium, the quantum-secure Layer 1 blockchain, has today announced a strategic partnership with FailSafe, the leading runtime security platform trusted by stablecoins, DeFi protocols, and Layer 1 ecosystems to detect and stop on-chain attacks in real time. The collaboration marks a critical integration between two security pioneers working at the intersection of real-time defense and long-term quantum resilience.

As quantum-era threats loom on the horizon, ranging from signature forgeries to key compromises, FailSafe’s forward-looking security architecture, including quantum-safe fallback modes, signer entropy monitoring, and support for quantum-distributed multi-party computation, positions it as a powerful partner in Quranium’s mission to secure the future of blockchain.

The partnership will tackle immediate cybersecurity risks and those that the impending quantum computing era will inevitably bring. Already, quantum computers are fast accelerating towards ‘Q-Day’ - the anticipated moment when quantum machines become powerful enough to break widely used cryptographic standards like RSA and ECC. In fact, experts predict that machines with 1 million qubits, capable of cracking these algorithms, could arrive as early as 2030 (ScienceDirect).

“Building a quantum-resistant chain is only half the battle,” comments Kapil Dhiman, CEO of Quranium. “The real challenge is ensuring that the entire ecosystem, from developers to end users, is protected from the threats of today and tomorrow. FailSafe already has a proven track record of securing high-value assets, and our partnership will ensure real-time threat detection, protocol monitoring, and regulatory-grade defense, so builders on Quranium can move fast without compromising security.”

FailSafe will integrate its plug-and-play security modules into the Quranium ecosystem, including access management, real-time threat detection, and automated incident response. These tools empower developers to embed robust protections from day one, before vulnerabilities are ever exploited.

“Quranium is laying the groundwork for a secure, quantum-ready internet,” says Aneirin Flynn, CEO of FailSafe. “Our job is to protect what gets built on top of it. Together, we’re creating a full-spectrum security stack that combines long-term resilience with real-time defense, something the Web3 space desperately needs.”

Over 6.2 million BTC, nearly 30% of Bitcoin’s total supply, is stored in addresses with exposed public keys, making them immediate targets for quantum-enabled theft (Cybernews). Another study found that nearly 70% of Ethereum smart contracts are inactive or vulnerable (Coinlaw). These inactive contracts may still hold assets or leave sensitive logic accessible, while vulnerable contracts pose direct exploit risks, highlighting systemic weaknesses in dApp security and the urgent need for rigorous smart contract development, auditing, and quantum-resilient design.

The key goals of the partnership include advancing security across the entire ecosystem. Indeed, combining Quranium’s quantum-secure blockchain with FailSafe’s cybersecurity tools will enhance overall threat resilience. Also, through joint marketing and publicity initiatives, Quranium and FailSafe will raise awareness and adoption of quantum-secure technologies across the blockchain industry.

The collaboration between Quranium and FailSafe comes at a time of rising global investment in quantum technologies, with $2.35 billion invested globally in 2022 and the market projected to reach $65 billion by 2030 (United States Cybersecurity Institute). Quranium and FailSafe are aligned in their mission to deliver not just isolated tools, but a comprehensive defense-in-depth strategy for the next era of the internet.

Both organizations are also committed to advancing ‘Blockchain for Good’, which is FailSafe’s initiative that provides grants to projects building secure blockchain and AI systems. It helps founders safeguard what they build from day one, which aligns with a growing global movement to leverage blockchain for positive societal impact and Quranium’s movement to a secure digital future.
