Coupang has announced the rebranding of its AI cloud computing service as ‘Coupang Intelligent Cloud (CIC)’ along with the unveiling of a new brand logo. CIC represents a renewed identity for the AI infrastructure that has, until now, supported both Coupang’s internal systems and external partners such as research institutions and startups.
Built on its own data centers located in Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area, CIC operates a highly advanced cloud infrastructure. It is equipped with large-scale power supply systems, cutting-edge cooling technology, redundant power configurations, multiple communication networks, and strict physical security measures. Designed for stability, the platform ensures continuous, reliable service even in unexpected situations. Additionally, CIC minimizes latency by reducing physical distance to end-users, delivering fast and efficient performance.
A key strength of CIC lies in its high-performance GPU-based infrastructure. The platform houses the latest GPUs, offering turnkey or clustered solutions tailored to client-specific AI tasks. In step with rapidly evolving hardware environments, Coupang plans to continuously acquire and operate the newest GPU equipment to maintain cutting-edge AI capabilities.
Coupang has actively leveraged CIC infrastructure for its own service operations and quality enhancements, significantly improving customer experiences and contributing to the revenue growth of approximately 230,000 small business partners. Moreover, CIC provides computing resources to external research organizations and startups, thereby supporting the broader AI ecosystem.
A Coupang Intelligent Cloud spokesperson stated, “Based on our state-of-the-art GPU servers and stable large-scale data center infrastructure, we are committed to delivering the highest-quality AI cloud services.” The company also intends to expand AI innovation through collaborations with startups and research institutions.
Furthermore, Coupang recently participated in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s ‘Strengthening AI Computing Resources Utilization Project,’ and plans to work closely with government initiatives related to AI development in the future.
