LS Cable & System announced on July 14 that it has launched Korea’s first high-flex industrial USB cable capable of withstanding repeated movements. This new product boasts not only high-speed data transmission but also exceptional durability, capable of enduring over one million bend cycles without breaking or performance degradation.
Compared to existing imported cables from overseas manufacturers, which tend to break after approximately 300,000 to 400,000 bends, LS Cable & System’s high-flex cable is approximately three times longer in lifespan, setting a new standard in the industrial cable market. As industry automation and smart factories expand, the demand for highly reliable communication cables for precision process equipment and facilities is growing. This development is significant for domestic technology competitiveness and localization efforts.
The cable is versatile enough for use in semiconductor, display, and secondary battery production lines, as well as in IP cameras, CCTV, and IoT devices that require frequent movement. It has received international certification from the Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) in Korea, meeting global standards in durability, connectivity, insulation, contact resistance, impact, and vibration among over ten other criteria, ensuring high product quality and reliability.
This product was developed through a collaborative effort between LS Cable & System and Kangwon Electric. LS Cable & System handled design and manufacturing, while Kangwon Electric incorporated customer feedback and market needs to enhance practicality and performance. An LS Cable & System representative stated, “With the expansion of industry automation and smart factories, the demand for high-durability USB cables continues to grow. We will continue to supply optimized data transmission solutions for smart manufacturing environments.”
