San Francisco, California -- While AI has made writing code more accessible than ever, it has introduced a new challenge: the need for thorough review. In response, CodeAnt AI has announced a $2 million seed funding round to simplify and accelerate the code review process, helping engineering teams reduce manual review time and bugs by over 50%.

Backed by Y Combinator, the San Francisco-based startup’s first institutional funding values the company at $20 million. The capital will support expanding its engineering and business teams and scaling its platform, focusing on code quality and application security. This timely investment comes against the backdrop of growing pressure on development teams to deliver faster without compromising quality or security.

The funding round was led by Y Combinator, with participation from VitalStage Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and contributions from DeVC, Transpose Platform, Entrepreneur First, and prominent angel investors.

"As AI coding becomes more prevalent, the bottleneck isn’t generating code — it’s reviewing it," said Amartya Jha, CEO and co-founder of CodeAnt AI. "Today, a submitted change request might sit untouched for hours or days, waiting for peer review. Even when reviewed, developers often lack full context, increasing the risk that bugs or vulnerabilities slip through. This stage is crucial for early, cost-effective detection of issues."

CodeAnt AI’s platform integrates seamlessly with popular tools like GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps. It offers feedback across more than 30 programming languages and detects problems and suggests fixes that can be applied with a single click. This turns once-hour review sessions into quick, proactive five-minute checks, helping teams ship faster while maintaining high-quality, secure code. Additionally, addressing issues during code review is significantly cheaper—costing ten times less than fixing them later during CI/CD or after deployment.

Michelle Naud, Head of IT Solutions at Autajon Group, shared, “CodeAnt AI acts like an extra team member—scanning our entire codebase instantly, catching issues beyond linters, and suggesting improvements. It’s fully integrated into our on-premise GitLab, and the team adopted it effortlessly.” Similarly, Sundaraman Venkataramani, Tech Lead at Motorq, emphasized, “At Motorq, speed and precision are critical. CodeAnt AI’s real-time feedback and security features have streamlined our development cycle, enhancing code quality and security while enabling rapid innovation.”

Founded by Jha and Bharti—who approached the problem from different angles—CodeAnt AI was born out of insights from scaling infrastructure at Zeta and ShareChat, and building high-frequency trading software at Blu Analytics, where bugs could have serious financial repercussions. Their shared experiences highlighted the need for smarter review tools, leading to the creation of their proprietary, language-agnostic Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) engine. This technology understands code structures across languages, identifying issues that traditional reviews might miss, and pulls data from security databases to enable customizable rules. For security-focused organizations, it can operate entirely within their infrastructure, ensuring data remains protected.

"Today’s AI-driven development environment demands solutions that either replace aging systems or deliver clear productivity gains," Jha explained. "CodeAnt AI balances both goals—accelerating development while maintaining high standards of security and code quality."

Tom Blomfield, a Y Combinator partner, added, “With the increasing amount of AI-generated code, effective review processes are more vital than ever. CodeAnt integrates into CI/CD pipelines to ensure only high-quality code reaches production—no more sloppy code slipping through.”

Pricing begins at $10 per developer per month for basic AI-powered code review services, with full-feature packages—including security and compliance tools—available for $40 per user monthly.

As AI continues to shape the future of coding, CodeAnt AI aims to bridge the gap between rapid development and dependable, secure software delivery. The founders envision a world where AI not only speeds up coding but also guarantees that every deployment is reliable and safe, empowering engineering teams to keep pace with business demands confidently.

Early investor Brian Shin, Managing Partner at VitalStage Ventures, noted, “CodeAnt AI is transforming a critical, often-overlooked part of development—code review. In an era of AI-generated code, validation is the new bottleneck. Their platform cuts review time by over 50%, ensuring speed, quality, and security at scale. This is a major step forward for engineering productivity.”

Additional investor insights include Aakash Kumar of DeVC, who praised the platform’s effectiveness, and Salil Deshpande of Uncorrelated Ventures, who highlighted its integration capabilities and early results. Transpose Platform’s Alex Bangash pointed out its role in freeing engineers from mundane tasks, enabling a focus on creative and innovative work—especially as code authorship increasingly involves AI-powered assistants.

In sum, CodeAnt AI is setting a new standard for automated, intelligent code review—helping development teams ship better software, faster.

Looking ahead, the team at CodeAnt AI plans to refine their platform further, incorporating more sophisticated AI models and expanding support for additional languages and frameworks. They aim to make their review tool an indispensable part of every developer’s toolkit, regardless of company size or industry.

With the rapid evolution of AI in software development, solutions like CodeAnt AI are poised to become essential. By reducing review times, enhancing code security, and ensuring higher quality, the platform drives efficiency and helps organizations meet increasingly stringent security and compliance standards.

The founders believe that as AI becomes more integrated into the coding process, their platform will evolve to support collaborative intelligence between humans and machines, fostering a future where software development is faster, safer, and more reliable than ever before.

Ultimately, CodeAnt AI’s mission is to empower engineering teams everywhere to focus on innovation and complex problem-solving, leaving the repetitive and error-prone parts of code review to intelligent automation. As they continue to grow and enhance their platform, they are well-positioned to lead the industry toward a new era of smarter, faster, and more secure software development.
