On June 26, Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced plans to implement next-generation smart hospital solutions powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

On June 25, at Daewoong Pharmaceutical's headquarters, a three-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with Seers Technology and Puzzle AI. The collaboration aims to jointly develop and expand smart hospital solutions based on generative AI.

This agreement's goal is to introduce advanced digital healthcare technologies, such as voice recognition for consultations, AI-based automation of medical records, and patient monitoring, throughout the hospital environment. This is expected to enhance the efficiency of medical operations and create a patient-centric smart care environment.

With this partnership, voice-based record automation and integrated patient data management are set to be officially introduced to healthcare settings, simplifying the entry, management, and storage of extensive and complex medical data. This allows healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care by freeing them from repetitive administrative tasks.

Furthermore, communication between healthcare providers and patients is anticipated to become more precise and dynamic, enhancing both healthcare quality and patient satisfaction. This advancement goes beyond mere efficiency improvements and showcases how digital technology can facilitate precision medicine centered around patients.

Puzzle AI will provide 'GenNote,' a voice recognition-based automated medical record solution. This includes utilizing generative AI to create a diagnostic record system optimized for various medical contexts such as wards, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and intensive care units. Seers Technology will develop technology that integrates its smart bed monitoring system, 'thynC,' with GenNote and advance solutions through clinical and demonstrative projects. Daewoong Pharmaceutical will be responsible for the dissemination and marketing of these solutions to hospitals and medical institutions.

GenNote is an integrated solution that understands spoken words in real-time, providing capabilities for summarization, documentation, and EMR integration. It features a proprietary microphone technology that recognizes only specific medical professionals' voices, allowing accurate voice records even in noisy hospital settings. This technology has been proven and utilized in over 170 hospitals in Korea, including Seoul Asan Hospital.

The three companies plan to intensify collaboration for the widespread adoption of these solutions in hospitals, focusing on advanced diagnostics through linkage with smart bed systems, creating personalized healthcare environments based on patient data and contributing to building a futuristic digital healthcare ecosystem.

Lee Chang-jae, CEO of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated, "Digital healthcare is a core area for future growth for Daewoong. This collaboration marks an important starting point to lead innovation in the domestic smart hospital market with technically capable partners, ultimately aiming to build a competitive digital healthcare ecosystem that can expand into global markets."
