LS ELECTRIC has announced a strategic partnership with NAVER Cloud to expedite the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in their power systems and data center operations. Both companies aim to enhance their expertise and expand their business in power, smart factory, and data center technologies using AI and cloud capabilities.
On July 25, an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed at NAVER's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of key representatives, including LS ELECTRIC's CEO Chae Dae-seok and NAVER Cloud's CEO Kim Yu-won.
This collaboration will focus on several key initiatives, such as the joint development and demonstration of AI solutions tailored for power and data centers, collaboration in cloud-based MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and FEMS (Factory Energy Management Systems) for manufacturing, and the advancement of smart factory solutions via cloud transformation.
A notable aspect of this partnership is the introduction of an 'AI Agent' that combines LS ELECTRIC's power equipment diagnostic solutions with NAVER Cloud's AI models. This integration is designed to enable non-experts to operate power equipment effortlessly, thereby improving customer convenience. Additionally, the companies plan to strengthen the competitiveness of existing core solutions like MES and FEMS through AI and cloud technologies while actively exploring new market opportunities.
LS ELECTRIC intends to leverage NAVER Cloud’s AI, edge computing, and infrastructure technologies across power, smart factory, and data center sectors, fostering technological collaboration and expanding services across various industries.
CEO Chae Dae-seok of LS ELECTRIC stated, “The fusion of LS ELECTRIC’s power and automation capabilities with NAVER Cloud’s advanced AI technology will drive innovation towards 'AI-powered power systems', 'AI smart factories', and 'AI data centers'.”
CEO Kim Yu-won of NAVER Cloud added, “This partnership represents a practical implementation of generative AI and cloud in manufacturing. We will strive to expand our AI and cloud-based SaaS solutions across various industries.”
