Merck will showcase its Materials IntelligenceTM solutionsat K-Display, Korea's largest display exhibition, to be held at COEX from August 7to 9, 2025 and willhighlight the innovation and development of optoelectronic technology beyond the display necessary for advancing to future visual technology. This year, especially after the acquisition of Unity-SC, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of metrology and inspection equipment for the semiconductor industry, the business name was changed to Optronics, so it will also introduce the expanded business.
At this K-Display exhibition, Merck will receive the 'K-Display Honor Award' in recognition of its contribution to innovation and sustainable development of display technology through its global status and expertise in the display sector. Dr. Yun Yong-Kuk, Head of Merck's Optronics Solutions Korea Business Division, said, "We are even more pleased to be recognized for our sincerity in providing innovative solutions and technologies in the rapidly changing display market and contributing to the development of the industry." He added, "as a reliable partner in the display industry, we will continue to strengthen our cooperation and contribute to the advancement of display technology through continuous research and development and investment, and further expand material and measurement technology into the optoelectronic field."
Due to the continuous development of OLED technology, there has been a growing interest in various display products such as tablets, monitors, and automotive displays, as well as smartphones and TVs, and major companies are actively developing OLEDs for tablet applications. Under the slogan “WeMaterialize Light”,Merck develops and provides a variety of OLED materials that can flexibly respond to technological changes, and furthermore, it provides solutions to the market by developing materials that can solve factors that affect display quality, such as cross-talk, efficiency, and lifespan.
The exhibition will showcase OLED materials, as well as innovative display materials such as liquid crystals, photoresists, and encapsulation materials. In addition, in the Optical Technology segment, visitors will be able to experience optical materials used in AR/VR and customized reactive mesogens to meet specific customer needs, such as optical performance, coating processes, substrate compatibility and reliability. In the Sustainable Materials segment, people can see how innovative material solutions, from displays to optoelectronic technology, can contribute to create a more sustainable future.
