Hyundai Motor’s brand-new car i20 won the Car of the Year award in India.According to Hyundai Motor on December 18, the winner of the Car of the Year award is selected by a group of 17 journalists who belong to auto-specific media outlets in India.
After making a comprehensive evaluation covering the areas of sales volume, performance, design, technological innovation, efficiency, price, safety, and consumer response, they selected the i20 as the Car of the Year in India.
This award is the most prestigious automobile award in India, which has a critical impact on local consumers’ decisions.
The i20 is a small hatchback model which employs Hyundai Motor’s design philosophy Fluidic Sculpture 2.0.With a hexagonal grill and a black-colored C pillar, the i20 established a young and strong image. In just four months after being released in India, the model was sold more than 60,000 units.
