Doosan Robotics announced its strategic shift toward 'Intelligent Robot Solutions' as it prepares to strengthen its global marketing efforts. The company revealed plans to showcase a wide range of AI-based intelligent robot solutions at Automatica 2025, held in Munich from June 24 to 27.
Automatica is Europe’s largest exhibition dedicated to robotics and automation technology, featuring companies involved in robotics, machine vision, and digital solutions. This year’s theme, 'Smart Automation and Robotics,' attracts major global industry players including Doosan Robotics, Universal Robots, Techman, and Fanuc.
In April, Doosan Robotics declared its vision to pivot from hardware-centric business practices to an AI-driven integrated solution model. The new approach combines hardware, software, and AI functionalities into what the company calls 'Intelligent Robot Solutions.' Consequently, its exhibition at Automatica will be divided into two main sections: ‘Automation to Reality’ and ‘Automation in Action.’
Under ‘Automation to Reality,’ the company will showcase solutions such as Voice to Real (voice-activated robots), parts handling, automotive door sanding, external appearance inspection, barista service robots, and Sim to Real (real-time motion control using simulation).
A standout exhibit is the 'Voice to Real’ solution, co-developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This upgraded version of the 'MixMaster Moody' prototype, first introduced at CES 2024, features a collaborative robot equipped with a 3D vision camera. Using voice recognition and large language models (LLMs), the robot understands user commands and context to automatically execute tasks.
The automotive parts handling solution combines multiple collaborative robots with vision technology, enabling object recognition and intricate operations without prior pre-training. Multi-arm control technology allows simultaneous operation of multiple robot arms for optimal efficiency.
The car door sanding solution employs 3D vision and AI to autonomously identify and refine complex surface shapes. External inspection utilizes 3D scanners for real-time vehicle exterior analysis. For customer service, a barista robot utilizes AI to recommend and serve beverages based on customer orders.
‘Sim to Real’ features Doosan Robotics’ real-time motion control technology, utilizing NVIDIA’s CuRobo platform. With tight integration between the robotic hardware and NVIDIA’s simulation platform, Doosan plans to expand application deployment to various clients and partners.
The ‘Automation in Action’ section demonstrates industrial applications aligned with manufacturing workflows, including component welding, machining, assembly, quality inspection, and palletizing. These solutions have been co-developed with European partners, recognized for their commercial viability and safety.
Global clients such as GM, Heineken, Danone, and Royal Mail are already using these solutions in real-world settings, validating their industry-leading capability.
