LG Display held a ‘CEO On-Air’ town hall meeting at its Paju facility on July 28, where company leadership reflected on the first-half achievements and articulated the management vision for the second half of the year.
During the event, President Jeong Cheol-dong personally engaged with employees, reviewing major accomplishments such as cost innovation and quality improvements. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the dedication of all employees in their respective roles, we have achieved meaningful results.” He emphasized the importance of the company's ongoing efforts, stating, “This year, we aim to accomplish a tangible turnaround, and by 2026, we want our efforts to translate into visible results through joint effort.”
President Jeong predicted that the economic environment in the second half—characterized by tariff fluctuations, weakened consumer confidence, and intense competition—will be challenging. To address these headwinds, he underscored the importance of fundamental cost structure improvement, citing cost innovation as essential for corporate survival and quality as the foundation of customer trust. He urged continuous efforts to enhance quality and yield.
Furthermore, Jeong stressed the need for LG Display to establish a “stable profit structure capable of generating operating profit monthly and quarterly,” calling for innovative thinking to break away from the typical “high cost, low profit” business trend.
In terms of organizational culture, changes are also underway. LG Display announced the introduction of a ‘Compliment Day’ campaign starting in the second half, aimed at fostering positive communication among employees. Every last Thursday of the month will be dedicated to giving sincere praise to colleagues, fostering a healthy corporate culture.
This town hall was attended by approximately 700 onsite participants and employees from domestic and overseas facilities via online connection. Going forward, LG Display plans to expand engagement with employees through various communication programs, including quarterly town halls, on-site management visits, ‘CEO Visits’ forums, and smaller luncheon or coffee meetings.
President Jeong concluded, “A culture of encouragement and mutual respect is the true strength of a company,” and reiterated his call for all employees to actively participate in change and challenge initiatives.
