On April 30, Samsung C&T’s Construction Division announced the establishment of a strategic partnership with SK Ecoplant aimed at collaborating on smart living technologies during a ceremony held at the Raemian Gallery in Munjeong-dong, Seoul.

The signing event was attended by key figures from both companies, including Vice President Kim Myung-seok, head of Samsung C&T’s Housing Business Division, and Vice President Lee Gi-yeol, head of Solutions Sales at SK Ecoplant, who shared insights about their respective smart residential products.

Through this collaboration, the companies aim to create synergies by exchanging technology related to their smart living solutions, such as Samsung C&T’s Home Platform "Homnik" and SK Ecoplant’s recycling waste management solution called "PICKLE." Homnik offers digital smart home services that integrate cultural and health management to provide comprehensive living experiences.

Looking to extend their reach, the partnership will also involve other branded apartment complexes, such as Hanwha Construction Division, Doosan Construction, and HS Hwasung, which have actively utilized these services in about 60,000 households, establishing them as essential amenities for residents.

As part of this agreement, residents of SK Ecoplant's housing brands—DEFINE and SK VIEW—will benefit from a variety of convenient services such as management fee inquiries, community facility reservations, and lifestyle services that elevate living standards and introduce previously unavailable conveniences.

Additionally, Samsung C&T intends to explore the implementation of SK Ecoplant’s innovative recycling technology, PICKLE. This award-winning solution, recognized at CES 2024, employs artificial intelligence to enhance waste recycling efficiency while minimizing inconveniences for residents in multifamily housing.

The companies plan to further refine their services by exchanging different residential technologies. They have also committed to developing technologies aimed at reducing inter-floor noise, which is increasingly seen as essential in newly constructed complexes.

Vice President Kim Myung-seok stated, "This partnership marks an important step forward in expanding Homnik. We will continue to strive to provide residents with the best possible living environment."

Through this partnership, Samsung C&T and SK Ecoplant aim to continually discover various housing innovation solutions and enhance technical collaboration to elevate the prestige of their respective brands.
