Hyundai Steel Strengthens Global Partnerships During WRC Event in Portugal

Hyundai Steel recently held a ‘Customers Day’ event in Portugal during the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) to showcase its technological capabilities and strengthen relationships with major European clients. The event aimed to promote Hyundai Steel’s automotive steel business, which is currently operating stably across Europe, and to deepen cooperation with its key partners in the region.

During the event, attendees participated in discussions focused on Hyundai Steel’s automotive steel production technology, the company’s electric arc furnace project in the United States, the progress of integrated electric-furnace and blast furnace processes, and the performance of carbon-reduction products. Hyundai Steel highlighted its global technological prowess and operational strengths, emphasizing its ability to respond swiftly to rapidly changing global regulatory environments through innovative technological solutions.

Following the discussions, clients visited the WRC service park to view rally cars adorned with Hyundai Steel logos. Participants showed particular interest in the advanced high-performance materials supplied by Hyundai Steel used in the major components of the race cars. Attendees also visited the actual race stages, cheering for the drivers alongside WRC fans, sharing an immersive and dynamic experience.

A representative from one client company expressed appreciation, saying, “Learning directly about Hyundai Steel’s automotive steel technology and carbon-reduction products was very beneficial. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with Hyundai Steel.”

Hyundai Steel officials commented, “This Customers Day was a meaningful opportunity to directly showcase our technological competitiveness.”

Since 2015, Hyundai Steel has been officially sponsoring Hyundai Motorsport, increasing brand recognition on the global rally stage. Additionally, starting in 2026, Hyundai will expand its outreach by participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans through Genesis vehicles, aiming to engage a broader range of international clients and fans.
