- Trump vows to create a Bitcoin reserve and establish a crypto advisory council
- Despite Harris' support for the crypto community, Trump characterizes her as “anti-crypto”

Former President Donald Trump fired a barrage of criticism at Vice President Kamala Harris at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville on July 27, Tennessee, where he announced a series of pro-crypto policies. Speaking in front of thousands of Bitcoin supporters, Trump outlined his ambitions to revitalize and support the cryptocurrency industry.

He promised to create a Bitcoin reserve, establish a cryptocurrency advisory council, and appoint a pro-cryptocurrency chairman to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He also vowed to prevent the Federal Reserve from developing its own digital currency.

“Biden and Harris' anti-crypto campaign will end,” he declared, pointing to Vice President Harris' passive stance on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. “From the moment I take the oath of office, the persecution of your industry will stop, and the weaponization will end,” he stressed.

During his speech, Trump vowed to fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, strongly criticizing his hardline crypto regulatory policies and investor risk warnings. Instead, Trump said he would introduce policies in favor of stablecoins pegged to the dollar.

In his appearance at the Bitcoin 2024 conference, Trump solidified his support for the crypto industry and emphasized his strong ties to the sector, which will be investing huge amounts of money to influence this year's election.

Trump also accused Senator Elizabeth Warren, a crypto skeptic, of blocking the industry's progress. “The Biden-Harris administration's crackdown on cryptocurrency and Bitcoin is wrong and harmful to our country,” he said.

While Trump has criticized Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the past, this speech did not refer to his previous negative stance. Instead, he expressed deep support and affection for the Bitcoin community and even participated in a fundraiser for the Bitcoin Conference. Tickets for the event's VIP reception cost a whopping $846,000, with tickets that allowed for photo ops with Trump going for $60,000.
