Azerbaijan's Ambassador Ramin Hasanov highlighted the country’s military success in the 2020 conflict and its efforts to enhance regional cooperation and global diplomacy, especially with the upcoming COP29 event it will host.

A ceremonial event dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day – was held in Seoul on November 6, 2024, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea. The event was attended by foreign ambassadors accredited in Korea, representatives from Korea’s political, economic, scientific, and cultural circles, mass media members, and Azerbaijani diaspora members in Korea.

Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea, opened the event with welcoming remarks. He spoke about the glorious victory achieved under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Army, President Ilham Aliyev, during the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020. He emphasized that this victory holds significant importance not only for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories that were occupied and destroyed by Armenia but also for the restoration of rights for Azerbaijani internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The Ambassador also informed attendees about the progress of peace negotiations, practical results obtained in the delimitation and demarcation of borders, and other issues related to Azerbaijan’s peace agenda. He pointed out that if Armenia takes sincere steps towards establishing peace with Azerbaijan, lasting peace in the region is attainable.

Ramin Hasanov further discussed the rebuilding efforts in the Garabagh and Eastern Zangezur regions, which were liberated from Armenian occupation, addressing humanitarian demining issues and other challenges and difficulties faced.

Additionally, he highlighted Azerbaijan’s activities to strengthen regional cooperation and its active diplomacy in global affairs, including the upcoming COP29 event, which Azerbaijan will soon host.

Following the Ambassador’s speech, guests were treated to dinner, accompanied by a performance from Korean jazz masters, featuring Kim Seon Woo on guitar, Lee Shihwan on bass, Song Jimin on vocals, and Lee Jeong Hyeon on drums, who played pieces of world and Azerbaijani music.
